Let me tell u guys everything I know about trading — mostly on Complex Gaming, but these rules apply everywhere. First thing first: never scam anybody. It won't benefit u and u'll get caught. Here's the full breakdown.
When u find something u like, offer something complimentary first — like a diamond in Minecraft or a spray in Krunker. It convinces the other person that u're nice and experienced. That first impression matters.
When I was trading on Complex Gaming, I gave somebody 3 shulkers of mythic, legendary and dojo runes, then added 10 complimentary enchanted golden apples. They offered back a Spartan Hoe Tier 2 — a special seasonal item. That's the power of offering right.
Instead of guessing, just ask what they want. It makes them happy and shows respect. But if u don't have what they want, counter with another item that's either slightly good or high in demand. These are my techniques — not sure if they work for everyone but u can always try.
A coin flip is where u wager money, experience, GC, or items — 50% chance for either of you to win. I was on a 24-win streak at one point. My technique? Look away and ask my brother if I win. Lately that's not been working though. U can also review ur trades with /tradelogs.
If u're trading up, u should be the one offering complimentary items. But if ur downgrading — meaning ur item is worth more — u can politely ask for more. Here's how to say it without being rude:
Them: "wdym more don't yk whats best?"
You: "I do — I am just slightly overpaying so I am looking for a little bit more"
If they still clap back after that, just leave the trade. No drama needed.
Scamming is an extremely bad way to get personal profit. I personally do not scam at all. It destroys ur reputation — people lose ur trust, stop answering ur questions, and never want to trade with u again. Not worth it.
I heard about someone who got scammed and was extremely angry — they sold an item worth 500 million buckaroos for only 350 million because someone told them that's all it was worth. That's scamming. Don't be that person.
If u want to win at trading, earn it. Ask what they want. Be nice. Give good offers. Say things properly. Offer real items, not trash. That's how u build a rep that actually pays off long term.
When trading, u urself must also beware of scams. Don't get played and lose ur items or money. Always double-check the trade. Ask a friend if this is a good deal. If something feels off — immediately cancel.
Always offer something complimentary when going for a trade-up
Ask what they want before assuming
Check /tradelogs to review past trades
Double-check the trade window before confirming
If downgrading, ask politely for more — don't panic if they resist
When in doubt, cancel and walk away
